The Fiscal Officer, Director, and Operations & Finance Committee complete their review of the proposed budget. The Board of Trustees adopts the 2027 budget, reflecting priorities identified during the planning process, including restoring service hours, addressing staffing needs, and supporting future service enhancements.
January 2027
The Franklin County Treasurer sends the property tax bills to property owners. The new library levy appears on tax bills for the first time.
February 2027
Property owners make their first-half property tax payments. County officials collect and process tax payments from all taxing districts.
Late May / Early June 2027
SPL receives its first distribution of levy revenue, providing local funding to support priorities approved in the 2027 budget.
June 2027
With levy revenue received, SPL begins implementing Board-approved initiatives. If approved by the Board, planning and recruitment may begin to support expanded services and operating hours; enhancements may be introduced in phases of several months as staffing and training are completed.
